Hideyo’s Blog: Baptism

I guess this technically isn’t “in the works” because it’s official and we’ve publicly announced it, but Everett and Elaney are getting baptized on Christmas Eve at 2:30PM at the Sunnyvale Seventh Day Adventist Church on Fremont Avenue.

But it’s a big deal!  A really big deal.  Everett and Elaney are confirming their faith in and decision to follow Jesus Christ.  Plus, they’re joining the spiritual family of the church.

If you’ve ever taught them in Sunday School, encouraged them in any way to follow and obey Jesus, taken care of them and/or their family, been a listening ear, or just been a friend, you played a part in their spiritual formation and I would highly encourage you to come out in support of their decision to be baptized.  It’d be great for them to physically see the spiritual family who have supported them in the past and will continue to support them in the future.  And it’d be confirming for you, that your work produced disciple-making fruit.

On a far lesser note of significance, this will be Baylight’s first baptism in nearly 7 years and the first baptism that I will perform ever.  So, I’m excited.
